How many mailboxes do we need?
Count users who need their own mailbox, then list shared addresses, aliases and forwarding needs. Include current storage and device requirements. Shared calendars or other collaboration tools need to be specified rather than assumed to be part of basic email hosting.
Does moving a website also move its email?
Not necessarily. Website hosting and email can use different providers and DNS records. Identify where mail is handled before any hosting or nameserver change so the two services can be planned separately.
What should an email migration plan cover?
Include existing messages, access on devices, domain records, authentication settings and changeover timing. Confirm the provider, mailbox limits, filtering, retention and support responsibilities in the proposal.
What spam protection does the platform support?
Mailcow includes Rspamd filtering capabilities. Proxmox Mail Gateway supports spam scoring, virus scanning, quarantine and sender rules. The enabled settings and quarantine access must be confirmed for your service. No filter can detect every harmful message.
